Born in 1979 in Ponferrada, León, David Cuellas is currently a Ph.D. student (2005) at the Institute of Polymer Science and Technology (CSIC) in Madrid, working on the synthesis of handcraft monomers and polyimides with enhance gas separation properties.

He obtained his B.Sc. (2003) at the Universidad de Valladolid and his M.Sc. in 2004 at the same University, working on the synthesis and reactivity of epoxysilanes against carbanions derived from diphenylmethylphosphine oxide.

In 2007 he received his DEA working on the synthesis of novel polyimides with handcraft structure for gas separation applications.

His research interests are focus on the synthesis, characterization and modification of novel  polyimides with gas separation properties.

In 2006 he attended the Advanced Specialization Course in Plastics and Rubber at ICTP-CSIC. He has a proved experience on a broad range of methods of synthesis and characterization (NMR, UV/VI, FT-IR, GPC, DSC, TGA).
