Born in 1982 in Merida (Venezuela), Elizabeth Rangel is currently a Ph.D. student (2010) at the Institute of Polymer Science and Technology at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) in Madrid, working on the synthesis of porous polymers.
She obtained her B.Sc. (2007) at the University of the Andes, Merida (Venezuela).

She made a Specialization in Applied Chemistry Mention Polymers at the University of the Andes, Merida (Venezuela) in 2009. During this time she worked in the determination of reactivity ratios in copolymerization between  itaconates with different length and styrene.

Her current research interests are focussed on the synthesis, characterization of novel porous organic polyimide frameworks to anchor catalysts.

Currently she is attending the Advanced Specialization Master in Plastics and Rubber at ICTP-CSIC.
