Non toxic flexible PVC
This project involves the preparation and study of new anchored oligomeric plasticizers covalently to PVC in order to avoid their migration. These additives shall be obtained by polycondensation of ab2 type aminosters. It is studied as the chemical structure of the amide and the molecular weight of the additive influence the effectiveness of plasticization when the polymer is internally plasticized with oligoamide. The materials are characterized by FTIR and H-NMR to determine the quantities of the anchored plasticizer and studies the Tgs of modified polymers as a measure of plasticization efficacy. The biodegradability of plasticized systems in pH and temperature function is studied.
